Ever felt that you could unleash your full potential by giving sharper pitches to influence important stakeholders, or inspire peers and collaborators in your work environment?
With the above question in mind, Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) invited Choon and Chris to present to researchers at Biopolis on how to make more impactful pitches. Choon drew from his experiences as a founder of a biotech company backed by investors in Singapore, Japan and the United States, while Chris shared his perspectives gleaned from two decades of venture capital and angel investing in the U.S.
Following the presentation, a lively discussion ensued over lunch on topics such as:
how various stakeholders define "success"
knowing your audience and adjusting the pitch accordingly
clarifying your message by reducing complexity
making specific requests and promising deliverables
gathering feedback as an iterative process
Special thanks to Hazel Khoo at A*STAR for hosting the event.
